14 Agenda: Friday 3/7/14 Cell Biology


REMINDER:  CELL ANALOGY PROJECT IS DUE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2014
REMINDER:  CELL BIOLOGY UNIT TEST IS ALSO ON FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2014
REMINDER:  
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY MARCH 11 AND 12 AND 13 ARE ISTEP DAYS!
Science classes on Tuesday and Wednesday will be class work time for cell biology study guide which you will get on Monday as well as work time for your Cell Analogy Project.  
Thursday, will be a review day to get ready for your test on March 14, 2014.
      ( I will have to have a sub on test day, Friday, March 14th.  Your Cell Analogy Project is due at the end of the class period on Friday, March 14, 2014. )

TASKS FOR TODAY:
1. LAB NOTEBOOK SET UP ACT 42
Set up Lab NB for Act 42 A Closer look
Index first: ACT 42: A Closer Look.
Learning Goals: What are some parts of a cell? What do they do?
Set up a KWL Chart in your lab notebook: 3 columns-- Column titles:
What I know about cells. What I want to know about cells. What I have learned about cells.
Set up 4 Stop to think areas, leaving 3- 4 lines under each.
Leave space for AQ 1-8: question 4 requires a chart- found on page C-61- so copy that CHART INTO YOUR NOTEBOOK!!

2.COMPLETE COLUMNS 1 AND 2 OF YOUR KWL CHART!

3.Find a partner and read together Act 42 pgs C-52-C-60. Answer the Stop to Think questions together: write your answers into your lab NB.

4. Go to the pictures you drew from the Sciencesaurus book and using colored pencils color your cells and label all parts and make sure you know the function of each those parts. ( Look at your list of requirements for the Cell Analogy Project and copy the function of the each part onto the planning page.

5. CHECK AND COMPLETE VOCABULARY WORDS AND DEFINITIONS USING THE SHEET IN THE RED FOLDER.

6. Complete Act 41 AQ 1-4
7. Complete Act 40 AQ 1-5
8. Finish any missing AQ-- HIGHLIGHT GRADE ALL COMPLETED AQ FOR CELL BIOLOGY!
9. Complete any vocabulary definitions
10. Continue work on Cell Analogy Project.
